Our days are filled with short pauses between tasks: stoplights, waiting for food in the drive thru, sitting in a waiting room, or restarting the computer. If you are like me, you find yourself staring blankly into the distance during those times or scrolling through social media. It is just a minute or two. No worries. True, wasting a minute here or there between projects is not a huge problem – especially if your schedule is full; but, could those hidden moments be more useful? Could those minute breaks add up to something much larger? In the spirit of being intentional, I am … [Read more...]
Be Intentional (and Decide What You Really Want)
Happy New Year, everyone! Like many of us, I am a little weary from the past two years and I would love some normality, but I am not going to sit around and just hope for that. Instead, this year Eric and I have decided that our family and business theme this year is to be: intentional. Intentional about preparation. Intentional about taking care of ourselves. Intentional about business. Intentional about education. Instead of letting this year happen to us, we are going to be intentional about our goals and our plans to achieve them. Freedom from the Fear of the Future
This topic has been weighing heavily on my mind recently – perhaps it has been preying on your mind as well. Our world is going through a lot of changes. Some see these changes as steps in the right direction; but, many are looking at the path we appear to be taking with fear and trepidation. We see evil triumphing all around us and it makes us wonder… Is God … [Read more...]
Are You Dating Your Christmas Morning Person?
In just a few hours, Eric and I will make our way across town to attend our friends’ ugly Christmas sweater party. After much searching (and finding nothing), I will be decorating a long sleeve t-shirt from Goodwill for my Christmas “sweater,” and I am still trying to talk Eric into decorating his beard with ornaments (I think I am fighting a losing battle on that one). All this Christmas fanfare, family gatherings, trees decorated everywhere, and excited children have made me think about all the Christmases Eric and I have spent together. Counting our engagement, this is our eighteenth … [Read more...]
Five Gifts Your Partner Really Wants for Christmas This Year
Just a few nights ago, I watched a video outlining which each enneagram (personality) type does not want for Christmas based on answers from the content creator’s audience. Heartbreakingly enough for me, Bath and Body Works (a strong staple from me!) was listed across the board as a no-go. Every enneagram type specifically mentioned that they did not want Bath and Body Works for Christmas (what?!?!). Well, since soothing body washes, festive lotions, and fragrant candles are some of my favorite Christmas go-tos, I felt more saddened by this news than I care to admit. That vlogger may as … [Read more...]
