In case I didn't make it clear in my previous two posts, I LOVE AUTUMN! The crunchy leaves, the beautiful colors, the crisp air, and the tasty apples! If had to pick one season to live in perpetually, it would be Autumn (with maybe an occasional Spring day thrown in here and there). Autumn, or the “almost to Christmas, but not quite” season is full of activity and excitement. Kids don jackets and play outside until dinner without complaining about the heat. Kids dress up in cute costumes and beg for candy (Halloween’s not my thing, but I do love seeing kids in their costumes). Pictures of … [Read more...]
Autumn is Here and Winter is Coming (Celebrating Autumn, Part 2)
Even though I love going to the beach (sweat, sand, and all), I am always ready to welcome the cool fall weather. If it were up to me, it would be between fifty-five and seventy-five degrees year round! Beach days are the only days I welcome heat! Now that autumn is here, I am looking forward to going to apple orchards, pumpkin carving, playing outside with our golden retriever, gazing at the beautifully colored leaves, and celebrating Thanksgiving. They may not land you in couples’ counseling or divorce court, but they can certainly rob you both of some peaceful moments! Temperature. This may not seem like a big deal, but you’d be surprised! If one of you … [Read more...]
Is it Enough to Almost Agree on the Important Issues? (Topics to Agree on Before Getting Engaged, Part 2)
If you and your future spouse only disagree over which football team is the best, or over which coffee shop has the best caramel macchiato, you will probably make it through life with minimal bruises; but, if you guys disagree on deeper topics such as faith and child-rearing, you may find yourselves struggling through some frightening and sleepless nights. Couples cannot be expected to agree on every minuscule detail of life, but for your sake and the sake of the next generation, you and whomever you marry need to agree on the topics below. In my opinion, both based on experience and … [Read more...]
