Sometimes, you just need to get away – you know what I’m saying? After being horsewhipped by the pressures of daily life, driving a half hour to shop can seem like a vacation. If you have small kids at home, going to the grocery store by yourself can seem like a getaway. One fantastic way to keep life from getting too mundane is by planning one-day road trips. We don’t recommend overnight trips together unless you are visiting family or traveling with a large group of people where temptation can be avoided. Being alone overnight, plus the excitement of vacation, can lead to regret. You’ll … [Read more...]
Silly Connections – Fun Ways to Connect and Let Your Hair Down
Have you ever noticed how romantic couples tend to consist of one person who is good with money and the other who is not as into managing it? Or how one person may be business-minded and the other is happy-go-lucky with an inclination toward endless fun and excitement? Not every couple is this way, but you don’t have to look too far to find some opposites who have paired. Dinner and dancing, or dancing and a late night snack, are classic dates; yet, I must confess that dancing is not my thing. However, enough people on this planet have gone dancing with a friend or sweetheart that I am fully aware couples do this as a dating activity. ~smile~ One of these days, I may say “Who cares how I look!?” and jump on the dance floor at a wedding; but, I do not believe that day is fast approaching. ~smile~ (Sorry, Eric!) The closest I have been to public dancing recently is doing the YMCA movements at a Harlem Globetrotters basketball game. (That was even a stretch for … [Read more...]
