Recently, we had the pleasure of sitting down with a couple we worked with almost five years ago, Dominic and Maegan Immordino, to get their insights about married life and all its ups, downs, surprises, and joys. They are such sweethearts and we were blessed to get to know them better as they later attended the church we attended until their move to Wake Forest, NC, last summer. It is exciting to watch God work in the lives of couples. So many relationships end due to selfishness and one or both partners giving up. So, when you see a couple who loves each other well, it is worth taking the … [Read more...]
Twenty Ways to Tell Your Man You Respect Him
This year, as Hindsight is our theme, in some of our posts this year, we will be revisiting, updating, and republishing posts which have received a significant amount of shares and/or interactions. We previously published a post called Twenty Ways to Tell Your Man You Respect Him (you are here ~smile~) and it became one of our most viewed posts to date. In all the lessons I have learned about men (in my almost fifteen years of marriage), one stands out above the rest: men need respect. I used to think that respect was something everybody had to earn. However, biblically, one’s father and … [Read more...]
Four Ways We Would Change Our First Year
During my teen years, Dad and I enjoyed watching the TV series Seventh Heaven together. The show’s characters Mary and Lucy were around my age and I related with many of their growing pains. Being one of the cleaner shows on television in the late 90s and early 2000s, I watched it without conviction and loved those Monday night viewing parties with my dad. Recently, I found Seventh Heaven offered on one of our television streaming services, so I decided to give it a re-watch and see if it held the same joy for me it did all those years ago. Just as before, it sucked me in, but this time it … [Read more...]
Hindsight is 20/20: 20 Reflections for Your Future
Another year is behind us and a new beginning greets us! Leaving 2019 was difficult in some ways. Maybe it was for you, too? Though a difficult year, it was also a year of great learning and growing. For some, the new year is an arbitrary date. Truly, any day is a great day to make a change; but, for many of us, the newness of a fresh year helps to revive and motivate us toward making important changes. Though a few ideas crossed our mind for this year’s theme, it wasn’t until we remembered the phrase, “Hindsight is 20/20” that the theme was solidified. So, we have selected Hindsight as our … [Read more...]
How Your Beliefs Will Impact Your Future
(To the tune of Auld Lang Syne) “Should nothing of our efforts stand, no legacy survive. Unless the Lord does raise the house in vain its builders strive. To you who boast tomorrow’s gain, tell me what is your life? A midst that vanishes at dawn. All glory be to Christ! All glory be to Christ, our King! All glory be to Christ. His rule and reign will ever sing. All glory be to Christ.” (lyrics by Dustin Kensrue) As we wrap up this year of Creed and look forward to a new beginning, I am reminded of our ultimate beginning. What is the root of everything in our lives? Why are we who we are and … [Read more...]
