Last time, I suggested that you and your sweetie devote some of your dating time to health and wellness! Today, I am suggesting that you and your sweetie also enjoy some adrenaline rushing activities together. In some ways, these date suggestions overlap; but, it is possible to get in shape without experiencing an adrenaline rush, and it’s possible to have an adrenaline rush without burning significant calories. Once in a while, take a risk and feel your heart beat out of your chest. ~smile~ Some adrenaline pumping date ideas include: White-water Rafting Bungee Jumping Sky … [Read more...]
Devote a Date to Health and Wellness! (Even More Dates for Connecting, Part 1)
If you are anything like me, you enjoy talking about getting in shape; but, you have a hard time actually picking up the weights and putting on the running shoes. Each year, I have great intentions, but then the rubber meets the road and I discover just how little motivation I have for causing my body great pain. ~smile~ But, like any other journey in life, getting healthy is not something that happens overnight. Working from home is a blessing, and I do not regret this decision; however, the knowledge that I don’t have to get up at a certain time can be too much for … [Read more...]
“You Love Me, Don’t You?” (What Steve Urkel Taught Me about Love, Commitment, and Connection)
So, I know I am totally dating myself, but I loved, and continue to love the television show, Family Matters! As each new season comes out on DVD, I collect, I watch, I re-watch, and then I re-watch again. Steve Urkel’s relentless chase of Laura Winslow’s affections reminds me of Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, but something about his pursuit of her heart never gets old. Not to mention the show is hilarious! Recently, we purchased season four, and I have already watched each DVD multiple times. Viewing it now as a married woman, I find Steve’s attempts to win Laura’s heart more … [Read more...]
