Ahhhh… love. Is there anything like it? The fluttery feeling that pumps into your stomach, along with the lightheaded glee that fills your being when you are with the one you love. Unfortunately… those feelings are not love. They may be an occasional byproduct of love – and there is certainly nothing wrong with having those feelings – but true, God-centered love is a decision that requires selfless and honest behavior. Over the next couple of weeks, we'll be writing about the Fruit of the Spirit and how the manifestation of this fruit is important to your relationship…. Love is the first … [Read more...]
Your Primary Lifetime Ministry
Today’s blog is going to rally against what you often hear American culture telling you: you do not determine your life calling. “What do you mean? I can be anything I want!!!” That is true, but God’s rules for marital roles have a lot to say about what you should do…. Men, I’ll address your situation further below; however, first I’ll address the ladies. To Speak or Not to Speak
"The best time to hold your tongue is the time you feel you must say something or bust." (Josh Billings) Oh, the wisdom in this statement! Briefly walking down memory lane, I can only think of a few times my bursting of information was a good thing – one being after Eric proposed and I couldn't wait to tell the world! Yet, other times such bursting occurred include when I was pushed to the limit and I felt either I had to speak the venomous thoughts on my mind or bust – or when I heard some unbelievably juicy gossip and I felt like I was going to scream if I couldn't tell someone! Generally … [Read more...]
Stringing Along and Being Strung Along
In addition to the below post, we have created a new miniseries on Being Strung Along. It features: Six Signs He is Stringing Her Along Six Signs She is Stringing Him Along Am I Stringing Someone Along? Check them out! None of us want to be someone's "Plan B." As tempting as it may be to keep someone emotionally strung along just in case someone better doesn't come along, it is hurtful and utterly selfish. We all like to be wanted and desired, but keeping someone guessing as a way of supplying that affirmation is an incredibly self-centered and prideful action… and believe me… … [Read more...]
