We all love reading about sex, thinking about sex, and looking forward to sex when we are in the “grown up, but not quite married” stage of life. If most people were honest, they would say that they spend considerable time pondering the idea before getting married. For as much as we naturally like to think about sex, we probably don’t like to think about teaching our kids about sex someday. (Did you just cringe? Or is that so far in the future you can’t even imagine it yet? Either way, the day could be coming, so it’s not a bad idea to think about it. ~smile~) Your Parents How did your … [Read more...]
Connecting with Children Around the World! (Operation Christmas Child)
Is it not a little early to be talking about Christmas? Not if you are planning to bless a special little boy or girl with a Christmas gift through Operation Christmas Child! If you have never supported this amazing cause, I would challenge you and your sweetie to jump in this year and get involved! Not only is it a fun way to connect and give, but it will bring such joy to a child this Christmas. Seven Ways for You and Your Sweetie to Revel in the Autumn Air! (Celebrating Autumn, Part 3)
In case I didn't make it clear in my previous two posts, I LOVE AUTUMN! The crunchy leaves, the beautiful colors, the crisp air, and the tasty apples! If had to pick one season to live in perpetually, it would be Autumn (with maybe an occasional Spring day thrown in here and there). Autumn, or the “almost to Christmas, but not quite” season is full of activity and excitement. Kids don jackets and play outside until dinner without complaining about the heat. Kids dress up in cute costumes and beg for candy (Halloween’s not my thing, but I do love seeing kids in their costumes). Pictures of … [Read more...]
Autumn is Here and Winter is Coming (Celebrating Autumn, Part 2)
Even though I love going to the beach (sweat, sand, and all), I am always ready to welcome the cool fall weather. If it were up to me, it would be between fifty-five and seventy-five degrees year round! Beach days are the only days I welcome heat! Now that autumn is here, I am looking forward to going to apple orchards, pumpkin carving, playing outside with our golden retriever, gazing at the beautifully colored leaves, and celebrating Thanksgiving. Yes, indeed, the fall season has so much to offer! But, just like any good party, we know it cannot last forever. Winter is coming. We … [Read more...]
