Those words caught my eyes and I knew I had to read further. One of my friends posted up a link to a blog titled: “One Habit that Radically Changes a Family.” After reading it, I knew that I had to link to it from PreEngaged so that you could enjoy it as well. It refers to a practice that you can institute now and institute with the future family with which God blesses you.
Here’s just a taste of the post by Ann Voskamp:
“It’s the way he was raised, the way his parents had been raised back in the homeland. You never leave the table without chewing the Real Bread. Even if there were cows to milk and you had to run, or you were late for prayer meeting at the church, or you had company for dinner. If you sat down to eat, you never left the table without eating Words.
Because the food served on plates, isn’t it the rotting and dead?
The food served on plates is but a corpse, the dead food, and when we partake of it, we eat of the dying world. But when we eat Scripture, we eat the only real food, for Christ is Living Bread and eating He who sustains all things, sustains body and soul.
When we eat His Words, we eat of the eternal world.”
Take some time to read the article today (and while you read, you’ll listen to beautiful, soothing music by David Nevue).
