Marriage conferences… for dating and engaged couples? Absolutely! Why wait until you get married to start learning how to have a good marriage? It’s important to allocate some of your time and money each year to strengthening your marriage and relationship with each other… so, learn to start that now!
The cost of such conferences widely vary from free (often held at a church, which may include materials) to several hundreds of dollars (these are large-scale conferences with professional materials, qualified experts, and many bells and whistles). It’s good to vary your selection of marriage conference styles over time; however, the important thing is to keep on learning and attending. You can even see if a local church in your area is going to do – or has recently done – a sermon series on marriage. If so, listen to those sermons with your significant other!
I strongly recommend that you invest in your marriage – whether you have a broken relationship or a great relationship – and anywhere in between. There’s always room for learning and improvement!
Below are two videos. The first is a promotional video for A Weekend to Remember put on by FamilyLife. This is one of the higher dollar conferences and they even have sessions exclusively for premarital couples. The second video is of Jeff Earle and a clip of the marriage conference he put on at a church to give you a taste of a more affordable experience. Enjoy!
