Last time, I suggested that you and your sweetie devote some of your dating time to health and wellness! Today, I am suggesting that you and your sweetie also enjoy some adrenaline rushing activities together. In some ways, these date suggestions overlap; but, it is possible to get in shape without experiencing an adrenaline rush, and it’s possible to have an adrenaline rush without burning significant calories.
Once in a while, take a risk and feel your heart beat out of your chest. ~smile~
Some adrenaline pumping date ideas include:
- White-water Rafting
- Bungee Jumping
- Sky Diving
- Parasailing (Some would not consider this exciting enough, but I would! ~smile~)
- Murder Mystery Weekend or Murder Mystery Evening
- Impromptu Public Speaking
- Racing on a Track (cars, horses, bikes, etc.)
- Dive with Sharks! Just be sure you’re in a cage! ~smile~
- Zip-lining
- Roller Coasters
- Surfing
- Selling Something Door-to-Door (It may sound lame, but it would freak me out! ~smile~)
Obviously, these are just a few adrenaline pumping ideas. I’m sure you can think of more! You and your sweetie may not be adrenaline junkies, and that’s okay; but, once in a while do something that makes you nervous. Conquer and divide! You don’t want to go through your whole life and feel like you’ve never put yourself out there or taken a risk.
Do What Scares You!
Just like with exercise, it is easier to take a risk when you have a buddy next to you who is taking the same risk. Pick an activity that appeals to you both and scares you both a little. Hold hands and go for it!
Surely something in this world scares you. Or at least makes you a little nervous? Admit to the fear and then take steps to overcome it!
Personally, I’m terrified of snakes; and, while I think it would be stupid to stand unarmed in a den of rattle snakes, it would be wise for me to learn what to do should I find myself surrounded by the little creepers. Plus, I can lessen my terror by systematically desensitizing myself to snakes. I can start by walking towards the snake section of the pet store. Then, I can stand in the snake section for a few minutes. After I get used to that, I can ask to hold one of the snakes. If I want to go whole hog (which I don’t), I can buy a corn snake for a pet. Having him around might help lessen my anxiety should I ever find myself face-to-ankle with a snake in the wild.
As you are thinking of daring activities to try, don’t start by choosing the most terrifying endeavor that comes to mind. Take baby steps. Zip-line before you bungee jump, and bungee jump before you sky dive!
Create a Bucket List!
It is easy to think, “I’d sure like to take some risks in my life.” But, it’s another matter entirely when you take the time to plan for such adventures. Getting your thoughts out of your head and onto paper is powerful!
So, make a bucket list. Write down at least ten experiences you want to have before your body fails you! Compare your list with your sweetie’s. Any overlaps? After your lists are completed, take the necessary steps to start marking items off of your lists. If you can, encourage one another by taking part in each other’s bucket list items.
Spice up your dates by taking a walk on the wild side once in a while. The more fears you conquer, the better you will feel about yourself! And the more feats you conquer together, the greater connection you and your sweetie will share!
