Remember when you were a kid and you did not understand why you could not have a third Popsicle? Why you had to stop playing to come in for lunch? Why you could not just ride your favorite roller coaster 100 times in a row?
Personally, I wanted to be left alone to watch as much television as I wanted, to talk on the phone as long as I wanted, and to eat as many sweets as I wanted; but, alas, Mom always gave me limits. ~smile~ I am thankful for the boundaries she set – they have made me a far more productive adult. Still, once in a while I want to give in to my inner-child. She just wants to do what she wants to do, over and over again, for as long as she wants to do it!
Well, today may be the time to unleash her! It’s Repeat Day! The day people choose activities they love and repeat them as many times as they want!
How Will You Spend Repeat Day?
I think I would love to spend Repeat Day eating pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, watching hours of my favorite TV series, eating as much candy as I want, all while laughing repeatedly with friends.
Or, and I like this idea even better, heading to the beach bright and early and bobbing up and down in the water repeatedly for most of the day – also while laughing with friends.
I would also enjoy playing card games with my family all day, pausing only to watch silly Youtube videos, refill coffee, and grab another piece of cake. ~smile~
What about you? How will you celebrate this day?
Repeat a Fun Day from the Past!
Another way to celebrate this unique holiday is by repeating a day from the past you thoroughly enjoyed! Maybe a first date? An anniversary? A random day that just happened to be incredibly memorable?
If I could repeat a day with Eric, it would probably be the day we got engaged. It involved the beach, roses, a diamond, and even a curious Dalmatian. ~smile~ What about you? What special day would you like to recreate?
Embrace Your Inner-Child Today
Obviously, we must not completely abandon common sense, but there are plenty of ways we can enjoy Repeat Day that are completely moral and within the law. ~smile~ Go back for seconds at the buffet. Get that second ice cream cone if you want. Watch more than one episode of your favorite show. Play basketball longer than you usually do. Play video games for hours if you want (if you knew me, you’d know I had a hard time typing THAT suggestion!). There’s even a website with the world’s first 24 hour music video featuring Pharrell Williams’ song, Happy: 24hoursofhappy.com (this song repeats over and over again with different people dancing along to the song).
If you want to create a special memory with your sweetie, pick one, two, or three activities you both love, and enjoy them together repeatedly in honor of Repeat Day! Eric and I would probably play games repeatedly in between our repeated trips to ethnic restaurants. ~smile~
Let me be the first to wish you and yours a very happy Repeat Day. Again, let me be the second to wish you and yours a very happy Repeat Day. ~smile~ I hope you and your sweetie have a blast together. Maybe you can set up a sprinkler in the back yard and run through it 100 times? Sounds fun to me!
How will you and your sweetie celebrate Repeat Day?
