Sitting at my computer, minding my own business, I saw a pop up advertisement of a woman putting her finger over her lips. The advertisement said, “Life is short. Have an affair.” Then the window had a dropdown box available for me to put in my relationship status. It eventually went away because I didn’t click on anything. An Omission of Obedience (Prince William and Kate Middleton Exchanging Wedding Vows)
It has been estimated that about 20% of the world's population watched Prince William and Kate Middleton join together in holy matrimony. Yet one of the interesting things that piqued my interest was that Kate wanted the traditional vows changed. Apparently, she did not want to vow to "love, honor, and obey" her husband; rather, she vowed to "love and cherish" her husband. Sickness and Infirmity
On our wedding day, we stand radiantly before a preacher in our most beautiful clothes and we are usually told to repeat some version of the following sentence: "Will you promise to love him/her for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?" As we look into that beautiful/handsome face before us, we think, "Of course! I adore him/her! I would walk 500 miles for my beloved!
