[note color="#ECFF9C"]“Habits are neither made in a moment nor are they broken in a moment. But at any moment one can begin to make or break them. Acts develop habits, and habits form character, and character determines destiny.” – Fr. John D. Fullerton[/note] I’ll make this short and sweet: Integrity matters. I teach undergraduate classes at a university. Earlier tonight, I was filling out paperwork for a student who committed plagiarism. This wasn’t the “oops, I forgot to cite a reference” type of plagiarism; this was the “copy and paste another student’s work” type of plagiarism. The … [Read more...]
Stones of Remembrance
Have you ever spent a lot of time walking through an older person's home? If you are like me, you are mesmerized by the pictures, ornaments, sculptures, doodads, and furniture. Looking around, I wonder what story these collections tell. Where did he get that trophy in the corner? What does that picture mean to them? Who are those people in the black and white portrait on the wall? Where is Dating Found in the Bible?

After listening to the videos, you'll discover the answer.... The first video is by an itinerant preacher named Paul Washer. The second video is by another itinerant preacher named Voddie Baucham. Both of these men shoot straight from Scripture and tell it how it is. Both men's sermons are also featured at Monergism.com. I would love to start a dialogue about this. After you've watched the videos, please comment in … [Read more...]
Words are Always Dessert
"Words are always dessert." Those words caught my eyes and I knew I had to read further. One of my friends posted up a link to a blog titled: "One Habit that Radically Changes a Family." After reading it, I knew that I had to link to it from PreEngaged so that you could enjoy it as well. It refers to a practice that you can institute now and institute with the future family with which God blesses you. Here's just a taste of the post by Ann Voskamp: "It’s the way he was raised, the way his parents had been raised back in the homeland. You never leave the table without chewing the Real … [Read more...]
