Today, I am 31. Thirty-One! How did that happen? Only yesterday, I was in college. I was in high school the day before that. And I was in diapers hanging out with my grandma the day before that! How Do You Like Celebrating Your Birthday?
Before I married Eric, he told me that he wanted birthdays to be a BIG DEAL in our home. When I was growing up, birthdays were special – but not monumental. When I was young, we would have a family party at the house. When I turned eight, I had my first big birthday party at the YMCA. ~smile~ At fourteen, I had a slumber party; sixteen, family and friends came over. “Happy Birthday!” Have you ever noticed how people respond to you when it is your birthday? Isn’t it great?!? People come out of the woodwork to give you gifts, they are kinder to you, and they give you a lot more grace than they normally would give you... it’s wonderful... after all, it’s your birthday.
