Couples won’t see eye-to-eye on everything – it’s a fact. However, there are some core issues on which couples should agree if they hope to share a functional and harmonious life together. Some disagreements can cause reoccurring arguments which weaken a couple’s connection. Consider the following topics: Geography. Most people have definite opinions about where they would like to live. Before getting engaged, discuss your desires and expectations on this front. If one of you plans to live in Florida, and the other wants to move home to Canada, life could get tricky. It is … [Read more...]
A Response to Russell Moore’s “What I’ve Learned in Twenty Years of Marriage”
Last week, a number of my Facebook friends shared a post by Russell Moore titled What I’ve Learned in Twenty Years of Marriage. Since this article was getting so many great reviews, I had to read it for myself! Though he has some good points, I found myself becoming more and more concerned as I read. After that he’s just moments away from Sleepy Town. Though I do my best, I’m sure that I could learn to give more therapeutic deep tissue massages. Unfortunately, at present, I have no idea how to give a therapeutic deep tissue massage. Christmas before last, we were offered a couple’s massage as a Christmas gift, but Eric just could not go through with it. As much as he loves a relaxing back rub, … [Read more...]

Have you found yourself drawing closer to someone who smelled of lovely perfume, or someone with a magnetic personality? Something we don’t always keep in mind is that we are not islands and we affect those around us. If we affect those around us we can assume that those around us affect us in return. When looking for a life’s mate, it’s important to look for someone with good character, but for more reasons than you might think. How your future spouse views and interacts with the … [Read more...]
