Have you ever spent a long time, maybe hours, poring over the right profile picture for Facebook? Well, I didn’t spend hours; but, recently, I did scroll through a number of pictures before picking the one I liked best (i.e., the one that made me look thinnest, etc.). After I uploaded the picture, I started getting likes and comments – you know – those compliments that get us all through life. ~smile~ After receiving a lot of sweet affirmation from friends, I asked Eric what he thought about my profile picture. He said something to the effect of, “It was okay.” Okay?!?! He was supposed to tell … [Read more...]
Connecting through Regret – Allowing Your Regrets to Bring You Together
Forty-one years ago today (i.e., January 22, 1973), the Supreme Court ruled to legalize abortion in the United States. Many people considered this decision a huge leap forward for women’s rights; whereas, many others saw it as a huge decline in our nation’s morality. Some camps defined legalized abortions as women having the right to choose what happens to their bodies. Other camps vehemently declared that aborting unborn babies is murder. After moving in the dorms at Liberty University, my poor roommate got to experience my tongue multiple times when I expressed anger and frustration about the perils of sharing small spaces with others; I'm sure she could tell … [Read more...]

When they finally got my attention they asked me why I'd drifted so far away, and I responded, "I was dreaming about being on my honeymoon in Hawaii." I don't remember this, but it must have made an impression on my friend and her mother since she shared this … [Read more...]
