There he is. He walks into the room and heads turn. He smiles. His chin is up. He looks his lunch companion in the eye and shakes his hand. He is working that suit and you do not know what he is selling, but you are ready to buy. Look at her. She knows she is a catch. When you look her in the eye, she does not look away. She is gracious, but not fawning. She could take you or leave you. ~smile~ She has a life and it shows. She will not slow down unless she has a good reason. Something about her complete lack of desperation makes her seem completely irresistible. Confidence is Incredibly … [Read more...]
Choosing the Positive over the Negative
All too often, I blame the weather for my moods. When the sun is up, the day is bright, the temperature is pleasant, and the sky is the bluest of blues, I typically feel happy. When the sun is hiding, the day is dark, the temperature is not so pleasant, and the sky is gray, I typically feel blue. “Another gloomy day? Eric is characterized by having one idea after another. His mind is always working and thinking of new ways to accomplish tasks, new services that can be provided to bless people, or new ways to have fun. For a long time, he would come home from work and immediately share with me the new ideas he had thought of during the day. In his mind, he was simply sharing his ideas (which for someone with his personality is a big deal), but in my mind, he was bombarding me with new tasks that needed to be researched and implemented into our lives. After several years of marriage, I realized that when … [Read more...]
