Yesterday, I celebrated my thirty-third birthday. There was a time I simply could not imagine being in my thirties, but they came – and the years keep zooming along... each one faster than the last. I Love My BEACH DAYS!!! Though I am not as excited about the number of trips around the sun as I used to be, I still look forward to birthdays. One reason being that birthdays usually mean BEACH DAYS! God gave me a good friend who shares the same birthday week and we share a deeply held love of the ocean. Personally, I see no better way to celebrate than by spending hours bobbing up and down with … [Read more...]
Experience Friday: In Sickness and in Health
So far, this year has been full of new and exciting experiences. And, while I am thankful for them, I am reminded that not all experiences are pleasant. Some leave us with questions, heartaches, and empty places in our hearts. Yet, those experiences that cause us pain also afford us the opportunity to pour our hearts out in a raw, uninhibited way to our Father God. To receive His unexplainable comfort and peace. I hated it, but it kept me from having to take risks. We get used to the status quo and sometimes it takes a major life event for us to realize our desperation. Here, one year later, much lighter, and much more confident, I cannot … [Read more...]
