Sex. Whether we admit it or not, it is a favorite topic. How many of us looked up reproductive organs in the encyclopedia, peeked in marriage sex books at the bookstore, or found ourselves reading sex tips from a magazine long before we “needed” the advice? From puberty on, there is a natural curiosity and excitement generated at the thought of sex; and, despite the guilt many have tried to attach to it, sex is good. God created it and it is good. Much like fire, it can also be extremely damaging if not enjoyed in the correct context. Fire in a fireplace is warm and comforting. Fire on … [Read more...]
Respect is the Greatest Gift (Happy Birthday, Eric)
It is my sweetie’s big day! In 1970-something, God gave a special gift to a special couple. He was a little ball of curiosity, excited by new discoveries. He grew up enjoying books, problem solving, chemistry sets, and even sought out entrepreneurial opportunities before he was ten years old. He is truly a remarkable person and I am blessed to have him. (Sometimes, I do not feel worthy of him.) Early in our relationship, I tried so hard to make his birthdays memorable. Experience Friday: Tubing Time!
Just a handful of miles away from my home is the Liberty Mountain SnowFlex Centre – currently, the only snowless ski slope in the United States. Thanks to Liberty University, it has been sitting there waiting for me all this time! Do not get me wrong, I have absolutely no interest in skiing or snowboarding (just not my thing); but, tubing has always sounded exciting. I mean, you sit in a tube and you go downhill! No learning curve there! It just seemed like amazing fun. Believe it or not, Eric was a bit uncomfortable when I brought up the idea of using the SnowFlex mountain; he had heard … [Read more...]
