Holidays are great... until they are over. I adore Christmas, but the pain of saying goodbye to the season and to my family is, at times, excruciating. Just because a specific day on the calendar has passed does not mean we have to stop celebrating! The birth of Christ is something we can observe year-round! Our Savior coming to earth in the form of a helpless baby is worth acknowledging more than a few days a year. March 3rd! Praise God for Jesus’ birth! July 17! Praise God for Jesus’ Birth! September 22nd! Praise God for Jesus’ birth! And, if His birth is worthy of an ongoing party, I … [Read more...]
Thoughts to Ponder on this Good Friday (Celebrating Easter, Part 3)
We put a lot of thought and time into this post. We hope you are impacted by it and share it with others. Grace be with you this Easter. “Good” Friday Have you ever wondered why we call the day Jesus was crucified “Good” Friday? Honestly, I’m not sure where the term originally got its name. When I was a kid, I could count on getting up and finding an Easter basket sitting in a prominent place in the house. I would look through it excitedly, slip into my new Easter dress, and then head off to church. When I got home, I would put a dent in my Easter candy, but I don’t recall the rest of the day being much different than other Sundays. Eric got an Easter basket on Easter Sundays too, but he had to look … [Read more...]
How to Connect with Your Sweetie During a Season of Growth (April Showers, Part 3)
Do you ever thank God for the hard times He allows you to endure? To the world, such a concept often seems ridiculous. “Why would I be thankful for pain?” However, it is often in those trying times that we seek God more, grow more, and become more like Christ. April showers come and after they are gone, we get to enjoy beautiful May flowers. We love the “good” times, but what we don’t always realize is that we can stop growing and changing during the “pleasant” seasons unless we are on guard. Is it not easier to remember to water plants after they start wilting? When they look beautiful and … [Read more...]
