It’s a blustery day today. When I got up this morning, I knew Ramsey (our golden retriever) and I needed to walk, but I wanted to lie in bed and do nothing, especially when I saw the trees bending under the wind outside my window. Walking gets my blood pumping and helps me get in the groove of the day, but today I was wallowing in self-doubt and laziness and a walk in the crazy wind did not sound pleasant in the least. Thankfully for my health and willpower, I have already made a commitment to exercise at least 30 minutes a day, six days a week for the next month, and I told Eric he was free … [Read more...]
Life is Short. Have an Affair.
Sitting at my computer, minding my own business, I saw a pop up advertisement of a woman putting her finger over her lips. The advertisement said, “Life is short. Have an affair.” Then the window had a dropdown box available for me to put in my relationship status. It eventually went away because I didn’t click on anything. I was too busy sitting there with my mouth hung open. All can say is... wow. All I was doing was looking up songs about money! In my curiosity, I typed the words “Life is Short. Have an Affair.” into Google and I found that this company exists to help people have … [Read more...]

Learn Something Your Sweetheart Appreciates
Eric loves backrubs. After a day of sitting at a computer, tensing his back and hunching over to type, he appreciates some relief. First, he likes his back massaged, then scratched, then rubbed. After that he’s just moments away from Sleepy Town. Though I do my best, I’m sure that I could learn to give more therapeutic deep tissue massages. Unfortunately, at present, I have no idea how to give a therapeutic deep tissue massage. Christmas before last, we were offered a couple’s massage as a Christmas gift, but Eric just could not go through with it. As much as he loves a relaxing back rub, … [Read more...]
Joseph and Mary (Bible Love Stories, Part 6)
Have you ever thought about what Mary was like as a child? We envision her as being one of the sweetest, most obedient, meek, and godly young ladies you would ever hope to meet. There had to have been something special about her for God to choose her as the mother of His only Son. Though she may have been considered an adult in her culture when the Holy Spirit overshadowed her (it is believed she was a young teenager), she was still incredibly young and untouched. When I was thirteen or fourteen, I could boil eggs, make stir-fry and cook boxed Mac ‘n’ Cheese. I could not have imagined having a … [Read more...]
