Today, I am 31. Thirty-One! How did that happen? Only yesterday, I was in college. I was in high school the day before that. And I was in diapers hanging out with my grandma the day before that! My Innermost Thoughts Time seriously flies and there was a time in my life when I could not even imagine being in my thirties... pretty much up until I was 29! ~smile~ When I turned 29, it was like a countdown timer started. –tick, tick– ... you are that much closer to 30, Heather... –tick, tick– ... even closer... you are getting old ... –tick, tick– ... and there is nothing you can do about … [Read more...]
How Do You Like Celebrating Your Birthday?
Before I married Eric, he told me that he wanted birthdays to be a BIG DEAL in our home. When I was growing up, birthdays were special – but not monumental. When I was young, we would have a family party at the house. When I turned eight, I had my first big birthday party at the YMCA. ~smile~ At fourteen, I had a slumber party; sixteen, family and friends came over. I always had a celebration, but sometimes it was just Mom, Dad, and me. I do not feel deprived and I do not think birthday parties are something kids inherently deserve. It is great when they happen, but kids who come from … [Read more...]
Candy Crush Saga
My newest obsession is the game Candy Crush Saga. I’m sure a few of you can relate. ~smile~ However, over the last few days, I have been stuck on level 23. Considering there are 360 or so levels, I’m feeling just a tad disheartened! I play on our iPad and my phone, but I just can’t seem to move past this infernal stage in the game on any device! I’m in the process of looking up tips online for how to get through this annoying level, but I … [Read more...]

Sin always has repercussions and always leads to death (does that sound just “not ideal” to you?). Death entered the world when Adam and Eve sinned. Sin is not … [Read more...]
Take Me Out to the Ballgame… (or, for the Love of Pete, Let Me Go Home!)
Dear Diary: I'm a little angry right now. Okay, a little angry happened about two hours ago. Now I'm just plain perturbed. If you could see my face right now you would run away screaming. Have you ever been frustrated enough to break something in half... like steel poles? It all started with a fun filled night. “Hey Honey, I have free tickets to the Hillcats game (our town’s minor league baseball team)... skybox seats!” Ok, going to a baseball game hadn’t even flashed through my mind as a possibility. I was expecting a low-key dinner and maybe watching a TV show together... but, we can do … [Read more...]
