In Monday’s post, I talked about the power of a woman’s attitude and how it sets the tone for the home; but, perhaps I let the gentlemen off the hook too easily. ~smile~ While it is true that living with a cantankerous woman is completely miserable (Proverbs 21:9, 21:19, and 25:24), living with a complaining man is not all that much fun either. Not that Eric ever complains... Okay, maybe he does occasionally complain. ~smile~ After I started working from home, my stress level greatly reduced. Finally, Eric was able to talk about the stressors in his life since I had finally shut up. ~smile~ … [Read more...]
How Complaining has Blessed my Relationship (The Power of Attitude, Part 1)
Complaining has blessed my relationship in the following three ways: 1. Uhhhhh... 2. Hmmm... 3. Well... On second thought, I suppose complaining has not blessed my relationship at all. ~smile~ The Daily Growl When Eric and I were both working at the same university, I got off work at 4:30 pm and he got off at 5:00 pm (or later, if he needed to finish a project). It is hard to grow apart from someone you laugh and joke with every day! Right? It is not a pain to get together with friends who … [Read more...]
Keeping the Air Clear (Connection Maintenance, Part 1)
Most of us have moments in time we would like to go back and change. If you were given the chance to relive one day of your life, which day would you choose? Have you ever fantasized about having a remote control which could fast-forward and rewind time? I would be flying all over the 90s and early 2000s if I had such an instrument in my possession. There are many teenager days I would revisit and redo! The day I am about to speak of is one of those days. But first, a little background... My college roommate and I go way back. In fact, when we met, she worked in a Christian bookstore I … [Read more...]
