Have you ever tried to be someone you’re not? Or, have you ever tried to be someone you’re not for so long that you lost touch with your authentic self? I certainly have... and it was my husband, Eric, who challenged me. He saw something different in me than I saw in myself. I honestly believed I was one personality type with a traditionalist temperament as well as a fairly scheduled and organized person. I was brought up to behave that way and I was taught (and learned) that was the best way to live. Sure, I struggled to keep my house clean, I was late everywhere, and I hated following … [Read more...]
Happy New Year!!! Let’s Experience Life This Year!!!
Happy New Year, everyone! Is it just me or was 2014 the fastest year yet? They say life is like a toilet paper roll. The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes. ~smile~ And it’s true! When I was a kid, I could not wait for my birthday and Christmas. It took forever for them to finally come. Now my birthday almost catches me off guard. “Seriously, it’s that time again? But, when we separate our massive goal (e.g., an immaculate home, good health, a doctorate, etc.) into bite size chunks, we will reach it over time. We … [Read more...]

How much do you hate taking down the Christmas tree? Most of us enjoy Christmas-time, but it is so sad when it all ends! I can remember sobbing uncontrollably after Eric and I said goodbye to my parents one year. He even kicked me out of the driver’s seat on our way back for safety reasons. ~smile~ Christmas does not have to end so suddenly. We can make the season last a bit longer if we put our minds to it! Think of some ways you and your sweetie can hold onto the Christmas cheer a little bit longer this year. Below are a few post-Christmas tradition ideas to get you started! Visit an … [Read more...]
